Finding information about various water quality conditions can be confusing. Not only are there many types of contamination, but there are multiple public agencies in Florida with different roles overseeing freshwater and coastal systems. Our Independent Monitoring
Calusa Waterkeeper currently performs monthly prioritized testing for Fecal Indicator Bacteria, and occasionally Cyanobacteria, in Southwest Florida. Our rangers are trained in sampling collection protocols and are unpaid volunteers.
